The Welsh Assembly is to spend £7bn on transport infrastructure, including Britain's second toll motorway, it was revealed this week.
The 14-mile £350m relief toll road aims to take the pressure off the M4, which runs past Bristol to Swansea.
It is part of the Assembly's 15-year strategy, published on December 7. Transport Minister Andrew Davies said: 'The proposed route will deliver the lowest possible long-term environmental impact, consistent with our economic and social objectives.'
Davies also announced plans for an air link between Swansea and Cardiff and RAF Valley on Anglesey, to start in 2006.
