London congestion charge supremo Derek Turner is to leave mayor Ken Livingstone's Transport for London only five weeks after the scheme's successful introduction amid rumours of management rows.
Turner, who is currently on holiday, is to set up a firm to market congestion charging abroad, according to TfL. He will continue as a consultant.
Livingstone said: 'I am pleased that Derek will be working with TfL as our main consultant and will play a leading role in advising other cities on traffic management systems.'
But insiders say that Turner's unexpected departure follows clashes with Jay Walder, one of transport commissioner Bob Kiley's main lieutenants.
