MoD needs new focus on stopping fraud, PAC warns

Attempts by the government to stem huge losses due to fraud at the Ministry of Defence are falling woefully short, the Public Accounts Committee has warned, after it emerged that the department has recovered less than half of the £5.7m spent every year on tackling fraud and economic crime – six times less than the government’s own benchmark return.
