The coastline of the Isle of Anglesey is set to benefit from a £5.6m scheme to support maritime businesses and provide sporting  facilities.

The scheme is to be funded by the European Union, the county council and the Welsh Assembly government.

The council’s head of economic development, Sasha Davies, said the island relied on its coastline because it fostered economic, social and environmental activities that enhanced the quality of life for both residents and visitors.
