Housing minister John Healey has announced new funding for affordable homes in former coalfield areas.
The Coalfields Growth Fund will provide £20m of government and private investment over two years, with the hope of generating £75m within five years.
Healey said the new fund would ‘help small businesses get through the downturn, expand and offer valuable, much needed job opportunities to local people’.
