A House of Lords report has warned that a full-blown swine flu pandemic would put hospitals under ‘extraordinary pressure’. Lord Sutherland, chair of the Lords science and technology committee, criticised delays in setting up a national flu hotline.
The report also called for the Department of Health to establish clear plans for intensive-care facilities in the event of swine flu spreading further.
