Dame Mary Keegan is one of four newly appointed non-executive members of the board of the National Audit Office. The Commons Public Accounts Commission approved the appointments on May 20 following an open competition.

Keegan, who retired in 2008, was head of the Government Finance Profession and is a former chair of the UK Accounting Standards Board. The other appointees were Ruth Evans, former chair of the Bar Standards Board; solicitor and audit specialist Richard Fleck; and Sir Joseph Pilling, former permanent secretary at the Northern Ireland Office.

The new members will hold office for three years.
