More than £2m is being given to 19 schemes in England to develop ways of tackling homelessness more effectively, housing minister Yvette Cooper announced on November 2.
The schemes range from support for youngsters at risk of homelessness because of parental disputes to a high-street property shop giving homeless households better access to private sector properties.
The Homelessness Innovation Fund is part of the government's strategy to cut the number of households in temporary accommodation by 50% by 2010.
Cooper said the projects demonstrated 'a range of creative approaches'.
