Scotland's auditor general Robert Black, has given details of his investigation into the soaring costs of the Scottish Parliament project at Holyrood.

A public inquiry is being carried out by Lord Fraser of Carmyllie, but Black will report separately to the Scottish Parliament. The cost of the inquiry, estimated at £1.2m, is also now mired in controversy, notably over the employment of consultants.

Black said he would give an assessment of the procurement, strategy and project management and control of the project. There would also be a detailed audit of the contract management controls and of the delivery of contracts against targets.
