Announcing that next year's approved development programme for RSLs will increase by £365m to £1.286bn, the housing minister said modern methods, including off-site manufacturing, would make homes available sooner for key workers and others on modest incomes.
'It's self-evident that we don't build enough houses,' he told the NHF conference. 'We should take greater advantage of development expertise in the social housing sector, and we must also take steps to speed up the construction and delivery process.'
