The Scottish Parliament's education committee is hearing evidence from the Scottish Executive's education department and former leading Scottish Qualifications Authority staff. The inquiry is running alongside an investigation being conducted by the enterprise and lifelong learning committee.

In a statement to the Parliament earlier this month, Education Minister Sam Galbraith laid the blame for the fiasco squarely at the door of the SQA. He has so far refused to resign, despite repeated calls from opposition MSPs.

Also expected to appear before the committee are the former director of awards at the SQA, David Elliot, the former director of operations Jack Greig, and the former chief executive Ron Tuck.
