PRP pilot launched in Surrey hospital

The government this week launched its pilot performance-related pay scheme for health workers at Frimley Park hospital in Surrey, despite continued opposition from unions.

The 320 ancillary staff will qualify for an £800 bonus if they meet targets in areas such as cleanliness, trolley collection and the time taken to answer telephones.

In total, six hospitals will eventually take part in the pilot scheme.
