Caroline Gardner, who is currently director of health and social work studies at the Accounts Commission, will have responsibility for performance audit. Ronnie Hinds, finance director at North Lanarkshire Council, will take on the role of controller of audit.
Auditor general Bob Black said that both individuals had extensive knowledge of public management in Scotland.
