An advertisement has been placed in this week's issue of Public Finance seeking candidates for the £125,000-a-year post. It is hoped that an appointment will be confirmed at the September meeting of CIPFA's Council and the new person will take up the post in the New Year.
The advertisement calls for candidates who are 'outstanding professionals', but does not restrict applicants to CIPFA members or those currently working in the public services.
