From September, new students will be expected to work through extra modules covering management accounting, taxation and policy making. Seven out of the 14 subjects in the syllabus will be affected. New open learning materials will also be introduced and the cost will fall from £3,284 to £1,350 for the three-year study period.
The details will be confirmed at CIPFA's annual conference next week in Birmingham during Margaret Pratt's presidential address.
According to Ken Gill, CIPFA's education and training director: 'The existing CIPFA professional qualification was highly rated by stakeholders during an extensive consultation process. These changes improve it further.'
