The award, made on Friday, recognised the firm’s work in ensuring that governance arrangements for CCGs – formed in April 2013 – were clear, well understood and fully reflect good governance principles and practices.
360 Assurance was established in July 2013, bringing together two long-standing internal audit services, EMIAS and Assure, which operate in the East Midlands and South Yorkshire. It is hosted by the Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust.
Commenting on the award, Tim Crowley, chair of CIPFA’s audit panel said he was very happy with the quality of entries to this year’s award.
‘The entry from 360 Assurance stood out from the start for its excellent and innovative approach in supporting CCGs at the highest level so that new governance arrangements are clear, well-understood and fully reflect good governance principles and practices,’ he stated.
‘The method that 360 Assurance has developed also has a high level of transferability within the NHS, but also in other areas of the public sector and we look forward to seeing their presentation at the CIPFA internal audit conference.’
The Cliff Nicholson Trophy was presented to director Tim Thomas, deputy director Annette Tudor and assistant director Kevin Watkins by CIPFA president Mike Owen.
Thomas said that as a CIPFA member, he was well aware of the history of the award and was thrilled to be the recipient for 2015.
‘The work the judges assessed followed a complete reorganisation of 360’s business model, the innovation and endeavour of 360 staff and the support of our clients. Confirmation of our work by our peers in the form of this prestigious award is something we value highly.’
The presentation was made at CIPFA’s internal audit conference, which took place in Manchester on May 14-15.
