I read your article ‘Countdown to IFRS’ with interest (On account, March 13–19).
From a professional viewpoint, I welcome yet another challenge that local government accountancy colleagues will meet with vigour and resolve.
From a personal perspective, however, I fail to see the attraction of a move to private sector reporting standards that have let me down as a bank customer, shareholder and, most importantly, a UK taxpayer.
