England's largest housing association, Places for People, has been given a clean bill of health — nine months after it was placed under supervision following a major governance row.

The Housing Corporation made the order last October after four board members resigned or were voted off the board amid allegations that senior colleagues regularly failed to consult them.

But, on July 21, the corporation said it was satisfied the association had made necessary improvements, and its two appointed board members stood down.

PfP chair Zenna Atkins said: 'We are confident that we now have systems and structures in places which are among the best.'
