Public service managers have been invited to tell the government about their ideas for reform.

A call forevidence opened at the end of last week and will run until January 5.

Public service managers and providers as well as experts are being invited to submit their ideas on how power can be shifted away from central government to citizens and communities.

In particular, the government is interested in hearing suggestions of payment and funding mechanisms such as personal budgets and payment-by-results commissioning.

Other areas where views are sought are the development of new rights for communities and public sector employees to buy and run services.

Evidence received will feed into the publication of a public service reform white paper.
