Planning appeals for projects in Scotland are speeding up, Scottish Government figures have revealed.
Eighty per cent of appeals are being heard within 12 weeks, compared with just 6% two years ago.
Finance Secretary John Swinney said the figures showed the government had acted decisively on the issue. When cases were appealed, it was ‘only right’ that developers were given an answer as soon as possible.
CBI Scotland assistant director David Lonsdale said the figures were ‘an encouraging step towards creating a more efficient and cost-effective planning system’.
