London Authorities’ Mutual Limited has pledged its support to the Local Government Association in its efforts to press the government to include legislation in the Queen’s Speech to allow mutuals to operate.
The trust and its member boroughs lost a final appeal in June in a long-running court case testing the legality of mutuals.
Chair Nathan Elvery said: ‘Every day’s delay in putting this right is costing public money. We need the government’s words to be turned into
prompt action as an example that, on efficiency and cost saving, the government
means business.’
