Charities are pondering whether and how to disclose public details of trustees’ and senior management’s expenses.

An independent expert group on expenses will now consult with the sector on how this can be achieved.

The group, set up by the National Council for Voluntary Organisations and the Charity Finance Directors’ Group, will consult until October 30 with a view to publishing a report by December.

Group chair Lindsay Driscoll, a former charity commissioner, said: ‘I am looking forward to feedback from a wide range of registered charities.’
