Adrian Pulham, CIPFA’s education and training director, has urged managers across the public services to nominate high-potential finance staff for the Future Leaders competition.

Pulham said that success in Future Leaders would not only benefit the individual concerned but would also raise the profile of the employing organisation. ‘Those who win a Future Leaders accolade have something impressive for their CV, but it also highlights those employers who can successfully nurture talent.

‘There’s only one week to go before the deadline for nominations closes, and we are keen to receive as many entries as possible,’ he added.

Future Leaders is run by CIPFA and Public Finance, in association with Hays Accountancy & Finance. The competition aims to highlight ten rising stars who have the skills to reach the top of their profession.

Nominations will be assessed by a judging panel chaired by Pulham and including CIPFA vice-president Roger Latham, past CIPFA president John Butler and the Treasury’s interim head of finance professionalism, Nick Jackson.

More details on Future Leaders can be found on : www.publicfinance.co.uk The deadline for nominations is Friday June 5, 2009
