The Building Centre, Store Street, London, WC1E

Two iconic images sum up the most extreme consequences of our dysfunctional housing system: the burnt out shell of Grenfell Tower and the growing numbers of rough sleepers on our streets. To truly transform the housing landscape we need a renaissance in the supply of public housing. How can the public sector do this?

CIPFA invites you to share your views on what needs to be done at an event in London on Tuesday 24 April 2018.

Our panel of experts includes Sir Michael Lyons, public sector economist and chair of the Housing Commission reviewing public policy, Paul Karakusevic, founding partner of Karakusevic Carson Architects, specialists in social housing and Dame Clare Tickell, advisor to the voluntary and housing sectors.

Do local authorities need more significant support than the chancellor has offered and how can they respond to local communities' needs?

The event will be held:

  • Tuesday 24 April
  • 09.00-11.00 (refreshments from 08.30)
  • The Building Centre, Store Street, London WC1E
